    The TDS Recon rugged handheld compute is durable, versatile and affordable. The 17-ounce device meets stringent military standards for drops, vibration and temperature extremes, from -22 to +140 degrees Fahrenheit. It is completely sealed against dust and water, earning an IP67 rating. The system features Windows Mobile software for Pocket PCs allowing users to run programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorers as well as specialized programs enabling law enforcers to issue citations or write reports in the field. A reflective color TFT display is clear and sharp, even in bright sunlight, while two CompactFlash slots let users add Bluetooth, GPS receivers and other devicers. Users can upload data in the field, download it in the officer, plus send and receive e-mail and access the Internet from remote locations. A 15-hour rechargeable batter gets users through long work days.
